Lining up a Training Session

-       Timing -

- in arranging training plans.

In the follow we will compile just 1 phase of one session as an example for the multitude of alternatives. A session will consist of several phases interrupted, as shown, by recreation breaks (if necessary). A plan for training in a practice-side session may differ from the one for homework. The sessions possibly will show an increase in challenge during the therapy progress as, for example the targeting will develop from training single muscles to training single chain links in a reflex chain, or in the classic case showing the development from Sensitation to Orientation to Mobility, Motility, Tonicity, Coordination and finally Habituation.

Here are just a view examples out of the large number of modifications:

A training session is built up out of several Training Phases and Recreation Breaks.

Variation 1: Training Phase 1 consists of one uniform exercise.

There is no separation into Series or Squences. The exercise may have any form of practicing, static, slow-motion or dynamic; the only relevant way of practicing of influence for our Timing Plan would be a certain rhythmical beat which will, then be prescribed in Frequency as shown in variation 3.

Variation 2: The 1. Phase is built up of one and the same exercise carried out in different Modes as in the

       CHANGING EXERCISE (for example as a static Hold-Exercise and a dynamic Move-) probably changing 

       through a stepwise increase forming 1 Series consisting of 3 Sequences.

      Variation 3: Typical for an ALTERNATIVE EXERCISE: This Phase No.1 is built up from one and the

       same exercise (A). Phase No.2 consists of exercise B. These two exercises are characterized by provoking a   

       contrasting muscle action in the same target area as for example contraction against stretching. The

       alternating may be carried out as in this example in a static Hold-position (mostly) but as well dynamically

       (Target position and immediately back to the start and immediately target position again) or even with a

       frequency beat

Variation 4: The 1.Phase is built up here of one and the same exercise (B) to form a Series of 3 Sequences with short interruptions.

Each sequence consists of a kinetic carry-out of a Move-Exercise which shows a rhythmic Frequency with a beat of 3 repetitions per time.

Variation 5: The 1. Phase again contains a triple series of sequences again with one exercise. The sequences differ in their execution mode changing from 1. kinetic (Move-), 2. static (Hold-), 3. Move- again. This would be the carry-out as a CHANGING EXERCISE.

Variation 6: A phase of  Sequences. Now the changing from one exercise to another (A-B-A-B)  happens within one Sequence. As the change may be carried out in relation to time it may be prescribed equally in a beat as a Frequency like the above described counterpoint carry-out as a ALTERNATIVE EXERCISE

Constructing a Timing-plan you should look at the paragraph TIMING of the respective chapter to see spot the given possibilities.

These proposals may help to put up and fill the single training phases.

There are surely a lot of variation possibilities besides those depicted above. One may think these timing prescriptions too farfetched,

however, looking at the training plans of top athletes, a minor irregularity in training may result in a complete failure for the athlete.

This will say  that we are training muscles in a much more delicate way and just smaller irregularities may lead to quite remarkable solecisms.

The greater the precision the greater the success.
