ALTERNATIVE EXERCISE

Myofunktional Exercise  Collection

This chapter gives a general description of a collective group of exercises and details which are sharing the here described facts. It is a matter of a more efficient fashioning of the training, a well defined TIMING, the arrangement of different exercises in a training session within one Training-Phase.

Contents:

Combination of well-matched training Sequences of different exercises to form a complete Series.

Materials:

Exercise specific.

Procedure:

See: Lining up a Training Session – TIMING-

Variation 3 and 6, kinetic, frequency tacted (with a beat) exercise.

Step-by-step-Description:

Variation 3, change in the Sequence:

-1 One exercise is practiced in its appointed mode to

    one Sequence.

-2 Immediately switching over to the prescribed second exercise (which if applicable is carried out in a predetermined beat).

-Timing:

The alternating will be repeated as prescribed which will form an alternating Series out of the Sequences.

Variation 6, change in the Frequency:

-1 One exercises will be executed in the first Sequence as one Frequency-beat.

-2 The next Frequency-beat within this same first Sequence is occupied by the second exercise

-3 the next by the first one

-4 the next by the second one…

-Timing:

- in the prescribed number to one Sequence. The following Sequence will be optional it may be a replication. Static exercises can only be arranged in a Sequence change.

Furthermore a combination of static and kinetic exercises may be prescribed.

Characteristics:

The character of the execution is exercise dependent. Additional points of view: The motivation through a more diversified, more interesting shaping of the sessions and, in case of a contrapuntal alignment of the power performance an intensified effect on the musculature.

Remarks:

The execution is mentally demanding, should be well established and assessed according to the capability of the patient.

Discussion:

Through the combination of exercises especially suitable and through the fluent shift the practicing tension built up within the target area will be maintained –either synergistic or antagonistic – and does not suffer an interruption trough a mental reorientation. The switch-over will enable a certain metabolic regeneration.

The mentioned motivational effect is gained through a rise of the motion sequence and the thus gained higher concentration which admittedly may cause a faster mental weariness.

Consequently this switch-over will also be a flexibility exercise for neural control.

Within these objectives the impact level may be increased by the prescription of an asynchronous frequency, an irregular beat. (The term ‘beat’ in this context is in the proper meaning of the word not really applicable as the intention of this measure is to put the patient out of step.

This is to direct his heightened attention towards the neuromuscular interaction and, thus, initiate a more cognizant practicing (see REMINDER).

In this connection a hint should be given towards the combination as an ALTERNATIVE EXERCISE with rising requirements, i.e. the INCREASE-ARRANGEMENT.

A further variation is given through the UNILATERAL EXERCISE when in the respective carry-out there will be a change from one body side to the other – mostly, if only one side is afflicted by the disease.

The compiling of a LIST OF EXERCISES especially for this way of arranging exercises is not very helpful as effectively each exercise may be combined with one or more others in a useful way.
