TIMETABLES |
Myofunktional Exercise Collect ion |
Application: |

This chapter gives a general description of a group of exercises for the organisation of the timeline of practicing. Cards are used to set a defined sequence of times when an exercise has to be practiced respectively a posture monitored or habituated. |

In the chapter TIMETABLES several applications of plans are discussed which serve various purposes. They principally are based on the same diagram shown there. For the variation discussed here for the lines 1, 2, 3 for example the time of day is preset, for the column A, B, C again the individual weekdays. Actions carried out are checked off visibly coloured. |
Materials: |
Pre-printed form (mostly in several successions). |
Procedure: |
- Previous exercises: The particular exercise or posture has been previously trained. |
-Starting position: Exercise specific |
- Step-by-step-description: -1 The patient obtains the plan – mostly a week schedule – with the necessary starting information about the muscle actions or entries to be carried out. -2 At home each time to the predetermined occasions the patient notes down the success with a green (+), the disadvantage with a red (-). -3 The plan is shown in the next session and thoroughly discussed. As the case may be, rewards are handed out or the need of a next plan considered. |
-Timing: Also with longer session intervals it is recommendable to prescribe one plan for one week. There should not be more then three plans in sequence as the procedure else would loose substantial attraction (motivation). To raise motivation the consecutive plan might get modified setting of time. |
Characteristics: |
Motivation for self-monitoring, (Habituation). |
Remarks: |
Too frequent repetitions might have a demotivating effect. |
Discussion: |
Compared with the other plan variations cited in the chapter CARDS the TIMETABLE is less evaluative then regulative. In fact success ore failure is filled in to make things more interesting; on behalf of the punctual practicing the presetting of the training times is of prime importance. |
Instructions: |
There is no preprinted instruction for the patient; he will only get the information about how to fill in the card when handed out. |
