This exercise is good as a stretching work-out for the ring musculature of the Orbicularis and for a tone increase of the whole “Belt”(Anatomy) musculature in case of a reduced cheek and lip tone. |

- Step-by-step-Description: |

A In the hold-mode -1 the mouth corners pull extremely and solely broad – sideways (retral) neither up nor down. -2 Return to start position. Alternatively: B In the kinetic mode -3 gets strained – narrow – the Orbicularis in contraction to one of the (following mentioned ) ALTERNATIVE EXERCISE as ,O'-EXERCISE. -4 Continue with step 1 – broad. |

One sequence under
A is filled in the hold mode by counting up to ten, perhaps rising. There
may be several sequences coupled together - broad – narrow – broad – narrow….

Remarks: |
Teeth in nonocclusion helps against to strong straining. Lips touch each other. |
Discussion: |
From the component orbicukaris stretching the exercise is also suitable as ALTERNATIVE EXERCISE for contration work-outs of the orbicularisas, for example, ,O’-EXERCISE, CHERRY, TRUNK and the like. For the Buccinator the exercise means a contractive tension in comparison to BALLOON, where the muscle is tensioned by a passive stretching. So even for this muscle an ALTERNATIVE EXERCISE mode can be constructed (BALLOON / BROAD GRIN).
In
contrarary to the exercise discussed here the LETTER SLOT (see there) is an
exercise which requires a higher coordination and more over leads to a more
aim directed training through its its different forms of carry-out.

Instructions:
The lips should get more tension.
At the same time also the cheeks will tighten.
Look into the mirror and then move the two corners of the mouth towards the ears. “Your ears are being visited”.
The mouth is pulled wide like a drawn line.
Watch with the mirror that the mouth corners do not deviate neither downwards or up.
Having reached the end the position will beheld while slowly counting to ten.
Then you may have a short brake optimally in the ,M’-POSITION.
Or:
If we have agreed to you now draw the corners as narrow as possible together. You may then change from wide to narrow and wide and narrow, as often as we have fixed.
