SALINEKEEPING

Myofunktional Exercise  Collect ion

Application:

no illustration

With an existing tendency of the lower lip to plant itself up and back between the dental front bows bending them to form an unphysiological overjet or overbite in an initial orientating phase this exercise will serve as an aid (Anatomy: There is no direct relatedness to a certain muscle group in this exercise. The target area is the Orbicularis-ring, especially the lower bow [inside-/outside-balance, illustration 16, page 10])

Contents:

Pseudomanipulated exercise acting as an orientation aid for the lower lip posture including sensorial and (negative) gustatorical feedback stimuli.

Materials:

A teaspoon of table salt added to a glass of water.

Procedure:

- Previous exercises: Not obligatory, optionally Mentalis exercises (MENTALIS STRETCH, MENTALIS MASSAGE, see with each the respective paragraph “Discussion”.

-Starting position: Advisable the ,L-M’-POSITION.

- Step-by-step-description:

-1Roughly one teaspoon of the warm brine is taken up and held in the Vestibulum.

-2 Count up to about twenty and spit out.

-3 Repetition.

-Timing: In the general training process this exercise should be positioned as an aid at the beginning. For a special timing it is recommended to prescribe one lap as one sequence and link five up to form one series.

Characteristics:

Pseudo manipulated hold-exercise, orientation, relaxing.

Remarks:

No typical exercise for the myofunction, see below.

Discussion:

This exercise only represents an aiding measure and should thus be replaced in the course of training shortly by noticeably more myofunctional methods as, for example, GORILLA, HOLD-THE STRAW

PLATLET HOLDER. According to Marvin Hanson the saline solution has a pharmaceutical relaxing effect on the musculature.

Instructions:

The lower lip will have to get used to stay at the correct site. Because it finds that real difficult we are going to help with some trick.

Mix a teaspoon of table salt in a glass of water. Then you take a small swig of it into your mouth in keep in some time down there between the lower lip and (in font of) the lower incisors; and try not to strain neither lips nor chin.

And precisely this position the lower lip will have to remember. Cont up to twenty or as far as we have arranged, spit out the saline broth down the sink and repeat the whole procedure after a small break
